Mission

Mission:

The mission of Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University is to provide a high quality undergraduate and postgraduate academic environment to foster pharmacists attaining a successful career and provide skilled and ethical pharmaceutical care. As an institution with a long and distinguished history of specialization in pharmacy education, the faculty offers continently developing programs to cope with the advances in the pharmacy profession. The faculty also supports research, promotes life-long learning and engages in various community serving activities. Our highly skillful faculty and staff members are a powerful driving force for achieving our mission.

Vision:

The vision of Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University is to achieve excellence and quality in education, research and community related services. The faculty strives to be among the best pharmacy schools nationally, regionally as well as internationally through seeking continual improvement and getting accreditation.

Stratigic Objectives:

In striving to fulfill its three-fold mission, Faculty of Pharmacy is committed to:

  1. Fostering the concept that pharmaceutical care constitutes the essence of the pharmacy profession and must provide the foundation of the faculty's professional curriculum that should be flexible to accommodate ongoing global changes.
  2. Teaching excellence and continuous monitoring and development of the educational process. Faculty, staff and students work harmonically to achieve the faculty’s mission and students share responsibility for their own academic and professional development.
  3. Training students and pharmacy practitioners to be ethical and caring, scientifically knowledgeable and technically competent, motivated to pursue
    lifelong learning and dedicated to fulfilling the public trust by assuring the safe, effective and efficient use of drug and health care products.
  4. Promoting the discovery and dissemination of new knowledge and encouraging faculty members to engage in creative activities and collaborative models of research that have a positive impact on the health status of the society, and providing them with resources and training programs necessary to develop into accomplished scholars.
  5. Ensuring that ownership and responsibility for the faculty's educational outcomes are widely shared by both internal and external stakeholders and assuring their awareness of professional curriculum and research programs components.
  6. Recognizing its responsibility in the advance of pharmacy profession through professional/public consultation and collaboration with national/international pharmacy and health care institutions and organizations.
  7. Implementing transparent structures and systems to manage and support ongoing global changes.
  8. Welcoming the scrutiny and peer evaluations provided by national/international organizations that assess overall faculty's quality and lead the way to improvements and development.
